We offer a wide variety of accessories to problem solve and help make your backyard feeding stations even more successful. There are accessories to help keep the birds out of poor weather, catch falling seed, hang and fill feeders and keep squirrels and large birds away from your feeders. Some of the below accessories can only be used in combination with specific feeders please read each description for more information.
Trays, Weather Guards and Cages
SeedSaucer™: The SeedSaucer™ was developed for the individual who enjoys birding in their back yard or balcony but wants to avoid the mess that feeding wild birds creates. The SeedSaucer’s™ basin catches spilled seeds and bird droppings to prevent them from dropping onto the ground and sprouting – meaning less lawn and weed maintenance while the protective grid insert prevents the seed from falling out of the basin, keeping your lawn healthy and rodent free. The SeedSaucer™ is also great for balcony’s and decks. The SeedSaucer™ is constructed with high impact UV resistant plastic, the hardware is corrosion proof.
The SeedSaucer™ is 16¼” in diameter, 3¼” deep and weighs only 1½ lbs. The chains are zinc coated and will not rust due to adverse weather conditions. The basin has water drainage holes for year-round use. In addition, the removable grid keeps the seeds from spilling onto the ground in windy conditions. The SeedSaucer™ is adaptable to all hanging bird feeders that do not have moving bottom parts and do not exceed 7” in diameter. All the hardware is included. SeedSaucer’s are proudly made in Ontario.
WBU Round Seed Tray: Add a WBU Round Seed Tray to keep the mess away. Round Trays can be added to all WBU Seed Tube Feeders, WBU Finch Feeders and WBU Peanut Feeders, including the EcoClean versions. They are backed with a lifetime guarantee and are top rack, dishwasher safe. WBU Round Seed Trays are available in three sizes:

WBU Quick-Clean Seed Tray: Add a WBU Quick-Clean Seed Tray to keep the mess away and to encourage larger and ground feeding birds such as doves and cardinals to feed. Round Trays can be added to all 2¾” WBU Seed Tube Feeders, including the EcoClean versions. The WBU Quick-Clean Seed Tray easily snaps onto our WBU Quick-Clean bases easily to allow for easy cleaning and filling. They are backed with a lifetime guarantee and are top rack, dishwasher safe.

WBU Multi-Feeder Seed Catcher Tray: The Multi-Feeder Seed Catcher Tray is a versatile seed catcher that works with many of our most popular Seed Cylinder Feeders. The WBU Multi-Feeder Seed Catcher Tray can be used with: Flying Start Combo Feeder; both the red and green versions of our WBU Seed Cylinder Bird Feeders, and our new black metal suet cylinder feeder. Simply slide into place and enjoy a tidy new version of your favourite feeder.

WBU Weather Guard: Add a WBU Weather Guard to our WBU Seed Tube Feeders, WBU Finch Feeders and WBU Peanut Feeders and any other feeders you want to protect inclement weather. Weather Guards protect both the birds and bird food from inclement weather. It has a lifetime guarantee and is easy to install. Weather guards are available in four styles:
12 Inch: 6" x 12" diameter (two styles available- with and without hanging hooks)
18 Inch: 6.5" x 18" diameter (two styles available- with and without hanging hooks)
WBU Tube Feeder Cages: Add a WBU Tube Feeder Cage to our WBU Seed Tube Feeders, WBU Finch Feeders and WBU Peanut Feeders to protect the food from squirrels and larger birds. Cages feature a 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch mesh and are easy to install. Cages are available in two colours green and black. "On-Guard" Cages can fit over a variety of feeders and utilize 1½” openings which allow smaller birds to feed, but exclude European Starlings, Common Grackles and Eastern Gray Squirrels. These are perfect for deck rail feeding or for when the arrangement of trees in a yard won't allow the use of baffles.
Cage Dimensions: 13” x 18” with a 13" Diameter
NOTE: Cages with 1½” mesh do not work to keep Red Squirrels or Eastern Chipmunks out. They can fit through the bars of the cage and are too light to trigger many squirrel proof bird feeders. Please see out section on Stopping Red Squirreland Stopping Eastern Chipmunks if you have these visitors in your yard.
WBU Long Plug: The Long Plug screws directly into our WBU Seed Tube Feeders, WBU Finch Feeders and WBU Peanut Feeders. The WBU Long Plug allows you to hang a smaller feeder or accessory (such as the SeedSaucer™) bellow your feeder.
WBU Seed Cylinder Cage: Add a WBU Seed Cylinder Cage to our WBU Seed Cylinder Bird Feeder to protect the food from squirrels and larger birds. Cages feature a 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch mesh and are easy to install. "On-Guard" Cages can fit over a variety of feeders and utilize 1½” openings which allow smaller birds to feed, but exclude European Starlings, Common Grackles and Eastern Gray Squirrels. Cages feature a 2 inch by 2 inch mesh and is easy to install. EcoTough® accessories are environmentally friendly, high quality products that are made from recycled plastic milk jugs. These feeders and houses prevent used milk jugs from making their way into our landfills. EcoTough® accessories won't rot, crack, fade or warp like wood can. They also come with limited lifetime guarantees.

Hooks, Chains and Hanging Cables
WBU Suction Cup Window Hanger: Having a bird feeder near a window brings the excitement of nature up close. It can also help prevent birds from flying into the window because they perceive that something is there. Our WBU Suction Cup Window Hanger gives you the chance to bring your birds as close to you as possible. To apply the suction cups to a window, make sure the window is clean and dry. Apply a little facial oil to the suction cup and press them firmly against the window. It is important not to apply water to the suction cups because water can cause the suction cups to come off the window. The WBU Suction Cup Window Hanger holds up to 4 lbs. of weight. Pair this hanger with a small and light weight bird feeders such as WBU Hummingbird Feeders, Oriole Feeders, Mealworm Feeders or any other small feeders.

Starling Stumper: The Starling Stumper is an easy way to help keep starlings and blackbirds out of your suet feeder. The Starling Stumper features a center hanger attached to three 6" chains. Snaps on the ends of the chains secure the Starling Stumper to your feeder. The two small snaps attach to corners of a WBU Suet Feeder and a third swivel snap keeps the door closed and provides access to the food for easy refilling. Leave plastic container from your WBU Suet Cakes on the food and place it in cage with suet facing down. The woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches and other suet eating birds can cling from the bottom and feed upside down; but the larger blackbirds and starlings are more uncomfortable feeding this way. The Starling Stumper will work with most sizes and shapes of suet cages.
WBU Hanging Cable: Our WBU Hanging Cables are designed to hang our smaller hopper feeders. They come in a sleek black colour and two sizes 15” and 16”. WBU Hanging Cables are sold separately and can be used to hold the following hopper feeders: WBU EcoTough® Classic and WBU EcoTough® Classic Too.
Other Bird Feeder Accessories
Feeder Fresh™: Feeder Fresh™ is a bird-safe moisture trap and seed preservative for all seed and feeder types. It fights rain, condensation, leaks and keeps your seed fresh. Feeder Fresh™ is safe for all birds, inert and chemically similar to sand grit (which birds regularly consume in the wild). It is designed to promote the health of wild birds by keeping the feeders they eat from dry and reducing the incidence of harmful mold toxins. Feeder Fresh™ works with any type of seed; but many people use Feeder Fresh™ with their Nyjer® or WBU Finch Blend seed regularly as these seeds can easily spoil with moisture. We sell Feeder Fresh™ in two sizes 45 grams (1.6 oz.) and 454 g (16 oz.).
WBU EcoClean® Perch Cover Kit: Use our EcoClean® Perch Cover Kit to give older feeders a facelift or to easily replace perches that have been lost. These perch covers feature built-in antimicrobial product protection, and they fit all WBU Seed Tube Feeders and Finch Feeders. Available exclusively at Wild Birds Unlimited, our EcoClean® feeders and accessories are the most advanced bird feeding products available on the market.
